Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for hydration and nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies are most interested in tastes they've already experienced through amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you want your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.
A banana? That's interesting!
How far along? 21 weeks today
Maternity clothes? A mix of both maternity clothes and my loose fitting pre-pregnancy clothes. I retired my belly band a long time ago...It's maternity jeans all the way now!
Stretch marks? Nope, please stay this way!
Sleep: Well, it was good...now I have to sleep with my feet propped up on pillows due to my little spurt of phlibitis, which is not so much fun.
Best moment this week: Well, all of the week in the Bahamas was fabolous!
Movement: Baby goes crazy in the evenings! I was able to feel kicks on the outside for the time!
Food cravings: It's safe to say that I have my appetite back...chocolate ice cream cones were a big craving this week!
Gender: No idea why, but now I'm thinking it may be a boy. We shall see on Thursday!
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Innie
What I miss: Not having phlibitis. You can go away now, k thanks!
What I am looking forward to: Finding out the sex on Thursday!!
Weekly Wisdom: If you think something is wrong with you, trust your gut instinct. It doesn't hurt to call your nurse line if you're worried something is not right, that's what they're there for.
