A new blog!

I decided it was time to create a new family blog now since Sophia is finally here...and over a month old! I promise to keep this one much more up to date and filled with lots of photos -- I have lots to upload!

39 weeks :: Sophia is the size of a watermelon, that's scary!

Your baby's waiting to greet the world! He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it's likely he already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.

How far along?: 39 weeks and feeling it!
How big is baby?: Probably over 7 pounds now
Maternity clothes?: I hate getting dressed everyday, I feel like a cow! Most of my tops don't even cover my belly.
Stretch marks?: I got my first little stretchie at 37 weeks, nothing you can do!
Sleep?: I'm very thankful that my sleep has pretty much not been effected with my pregnancy!

Best moment this week?: We finally installed the car seat...I love seeing it in my car :)
Movement?: Lot's of tossing and turning, I miss the big kicks I used to get all of the time.
Food cravings?: Oreo's & milk and Chex cereal with sugar...this is seriously about all I've ate lately.
Labor signs?: I did wake up a bit crampy this morning but still no signs of her coming.
Belly button in or out?: Still in!
What I miss: Same as last week...NOT being pregnant anymore!
What I'm looking forward to: My doctor's appointment on Friday to see where I'm at...I'm secretly hoping that I don't make it until Friday :)

My eyes grew about 10 times when I opened my e-mail this morning to find that Sophia is now the size of a small watermelon. That's scary! It's really not so shocking because I am definitely feeling it. My back has been absolutely throbbing this week and little things like bending over to pick something up are quite the task at this point. My belly bumps into everything! I can't even wash dishes anymore because my belly hits the counter and my arms aren't long enough to reach...I'm sure that's a sight to see! My toe nails need painted and I think I'm going to have to recruit Jordan to do them for me...or maybe I should just go get a pedicure :)

We also got back our maternity pictures from the wonderful Morgan Crane Photography...and we love them! I wasn't sure if we were even going to have any done but we were going to be in Chicago back in June to shoot a wedding reception and Morgan insisted on it :) SO glad that we did! I love them all but here are just a few of our favorites:

Decisions, decisions...

Well, I just got back from my weekly doctor's appointment and my OB said that he can check me at my next appointment (which is next Friday) and that if I'm ready to throw in the towel we can schedule an induction for the following Tuesday, the 18th. This would put me at 40 weeks, 1 day. This is VERY appealing!

While induction is definitely not ideal, knowing that I can have this baby on the 18th is starting to sound better and better...especially with my back killing me like it has been. It's a big decision and something that Jordan and I really need to discuss. We'll probably change our minds a million times.

Hopefully I won't have to worry about making this decision and Sophia will come on her own before then! Throw some labor dust my way!

38 weeks :: Sophia is the size of Leek...whatever that is!

Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). She has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If she's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)

How far along?: 38 weeks, getting there!
How big is baby?: Over 6 pounds now...and I'm feeling it!
Maternity clothes?: Nothing fits. I wear the same things all of the time!
Stretch marks?: I got one little guy at 37 weeks, not pleased but what can you do!
Sleep?: Sleep is still good, I've been lucky!
Best moment this week?: Finishing the bathroom! It turned out so good...all it needs are a few more little decorative touches.
Movement?: She beats the crap out of me -- She actually woke me out of my sleep at 7:30 AM on Sunday because she was kicking so hard! I think she wants out :)
Food cravings?: Still loving chocolate ice cream with Reese Cups & caramel
Labor signs?: Random contractions but still no signs that Sophia is coming any time soon :(
Belly button in or out?: Still in!
What I miss: I'm officially over being pregnant...ready to meet her now!
What I'm looking forward to: Meeting Sophia...hopefully sooner than later!

Ladies & gentleman, the bathroom is finished! Thank God Jordan's dad was able to help us out with a lot of it, we definitely couldn't have done it without him. It turned out very nice, well worth the 3 weeks it took to complete!

I'm over being pregnant. I want her out...yesterday. I am officially waddling at this point, my back hurts, nothing fits, my feet are swollen, my ankles have disappeared, I get gallbladder attcks frequently, I got my first stretch mark and to top it all off I'm cranky. Poor Jordan gets to deal with all of that! Some women say pregnancy makes them very emotional and cry...I, on the other hand, want to punch people and am mean! I know that I snap at Jordan but I honestly can't help it...it just comes out! I think he sometimes wonders where his wife has gone :)

37 weeks - I'm "full term"!

Congratulations — your baby is full term! This means that if your baby arrives now, his lungs should be fully mature and ready to adjust to life outside the womb, even though your due date is still three weeks away.Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.

How far along?: 37 weeks - full term!
How big is baby?: 6 pounds now!
Maternity clothes?: I love wearing dresses and sandals/flip-flops now, so much more comfortable! When I'm not wearing that, it's definitely yoga pants and a tank!
Stretch marks?: I made it 37 weeks without ANY and I finally got a little tiny one that is probably a 1/2 inch long just under my belly button. I can handle this tiny little guy, no more allowed though!
Sleep?: Just fine, except that I am so HOT. We keep the ceiling fan and a standing fan running with no covers/blankets and I still sweat.
Best moment this week?: Made some progress on the bathroom and spending time with friends & family all weekend! OH...and I'm excited that I made it full-term :)
Movement?: It slowed down for a day or so, scared me a bit...but she's back to beating me up again!
Food cravings?: Chocolate ice cream with Reese Cups and caramel...ate it probably 3 times this week! I had to give up my McDonald's double cheese burger & fry cravings because my gall bladder is acting up :(
Labor signs?: I get contractions all the time, but nothing timeable or too painful. I've also been getting random nausea, no fun.
Belly button in or out?: Still in!
What I miss: Eating whatever I want...stupid gallbladder had to ruin that for me. I snuck in some Marion's pizza on Sunday though :)
What I'm looking forward to: Getting our bathroom done! It'll be ready any day now!

7.24.2009

Back from the doctor...

I had been experiencing really bad back pains that felt like they wrapped around to the upper part of my belly...that combined with shooting pains in my back were not a fun experience. I told my OB about what I was feeling and he immediately said it's my gallbladder. He told me I needed to rest with a heating pad and to cut out all greasy foods.

I don't typically eat a lot of greasy foods or fast food (since being pregnant), but for some reason I had major cravings for McDonald's and ate a double cheeseburger and fries for lunch 2 days in a row. I'm thinking that may have had something to do with it :) So now I'm just taking it easy and will go back to eating normally...no more McDonald's for me!

I'm still pretty uncomfortable today. I'm hoping I'll start to feel better soon because it's really very very very uncomfortable and pretty miserable. I only get relief when I lay in bed, which I obviously cannot do while I'm at work all day.

Other than that, the doctor's appointment went just fine! I'm still measuring on target, Sophia's heartbeat sounded good at 129 BPM, weight is right on par, and my blood pressure has been nice and low throughout my entire pregnancy -- something I worry about because my mom has had blood pressure problems from a very young age. I'm going in weekly now and my doctor said it's just a waiting game at this point, she can come whenever she feels like it!

36 weeks :: Sophia is the size of a crenshaw melon!

Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement.

At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) Most likely she's in a head-down position. But if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an "external cephalic version," which is a fancy way of saying she'll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.

How far along?: 36 weeks exactly
How big is baby?: Almost 6 pounds, oh my!
Maternity clothes?: I pretty much live in yoga pants and tanks...best thing ever.
Stretch marks?: Still none...keep crossing those fingers!
Sleep?: Still good! My hips were getting a bit sore so I started sleeping with my body pillow again, which helped.
Best moment this week?: Spending time with Jordan's family at Brianne's wedding reception. Nothing like summer nights by a bonfire :)
Movement?: She's not in my ribs quite as often, but when she does stick a foot in there it hurts so bad! She loves to roll around in there though.
Food cravings?: I had a major craving for brownie batter but didn't give into it because I figured raw eggs were probably not the best thing for baby!
Labor signs?: I thought I was going into labor on Friday! I had been really crampy since Thursday evening and it got worse on Friday. Then when I left work, I went to Hobby Lobby and started experiencing stop-me-in-my tracks, have to breathe through them contractions for almost an hour. I was about to call my doctor if I got one more but then they completely quit, thank goodness!
Belly button in or out?: Still in!
What I miss: Photography. I've taken a break from shooting (still editing though!) until after Sophia arrives and I miss it already.
What I'm looking forward to: Getting our bathroom finished! Still not done...hopefully within the next few days.
Well, after my little "labor" scare...I decided I needed to get myself into gear and get my hospital bag packed. I think I packed entirely way too much stuff...oh well! I think I'll take the car seat over to the fire station to make sure that it gets installed properly today too. Sophia, you're not allowed to come yet! Mommy & daddy aren't ready for you quite yet :)
I don't know why, but I just have this feeling that I'm not going to make it to my due date. I have been crampy since Thursday and my Braxton Hicks contractions are starting to get painful now. They were HORRIBLE on Friday. Of course I was out in public (alone) while all of this was happening...I kept having visions of myself running out of the store with my pants soaked and not making it to the hospital in time. Jordan has to come everywhere with me now...I refuse to go anywhere alone :)

7.17.2009

Exactly ONE month...

That's right folks. Today is exactly 1 month until Sophia's due date. Honestly, this has felt like the longest pregnancy ever...I feel like I've been pregnant for years! I guess it's because we found out so soon? I'm just so ready to meet our daughter! We have some very eager grandparents who are ready to meet her as well :)

I haven't even begun reupholstering the antique chair for the nursery...I feel bad that I haven't done that yet. With our house literally a construction zone right now (our bathroom re-model isn't even almost done), Jordan working 50-60 hours a week and me working full-time and running my photography business it's just been put on the back burner. I'm not taking any new pictures of the nursery until that chair is done though! It's definitely girly :) I'll have pictures soon enough!

My OB told me that if I were to go into labor right now, he wouldn't try to stop it...so that was an eye opener! He says I'm measuring right where I should be, my weight gain has been "perfection", and he felt my belly for a minute and said that she was head down...which is a good thing! I'm terrified of having a C-section. I want to do it the old fashioned way (well, with pain killers hee-hee) and I've never even had surgery before. I just don't want the birth of our daughter to be the first time I ever have surgery. It's scary enough having a baby, let alone staying awake for a major surgery. Just some of the things I've been thinking about lately :)

I can't wait to meet you Miss Sophia! You're already so loved and you're not even here yet. Just give mama and daddy at least 2 more weeks because we want our home to be perfect for your arrival. For now, we're all patiently waiting :)

7.13.2009

35 Weeks :: Sophia is the size of a honeydew melon!

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

How far along?: 35 weeks exactly
How big is baby?: Over 5 pounds now, she's getting to be a chunker :)
Maternity clothes?: We're not discussing clothing options anymore, I hate everything on me at this point.
Stretch marks?: Still none...keep crossing those fingers!
Sleep?: I've been waking up on my back in the middle of the night for some reason the last week or so, makes me nervous when I do that. Sleep is good though!
Best moment this week?: Well, the bathroom isn't even almost finished (like we had planned) but we had a nice time hanging with family all day Sunday for Josh's 4th birthday!
Movement?: Lot's of rolling around going on in there! She still likes to sit up in my ribs every once in a while, it has gotten a little better though...hopefully she's dropped a bit!
Food cravings?: Love me some chocolate, still!
Labor signs?: Still just random Braxton Hicks Contractions, although now they're starting to feel more crampy rather than the balling up/tightening I was feeling before.
Belly button in or out?: I don't think it's ever going to pop!
What I miss: The pool. I've been dying to go and relax but we just haven't had the time.
What I'm looking forward to: Hopefully finishing up the bathroom re-model by this weekend. Those are high hopes :)

Well, our little "weekend bathroom renovation" didn't exactly go as planned. Jordan has been working about 50-60 hours a week and ended up working until 3:00 on Saturday so he didn't get very much time to work on the bathroom. Then on Sunday we had lots of family stuff going on, so he hardly got to work on it then either! He pretty much just got the old tile ripped up and the ugly plastic and chair rails off the walls. Whoever put up that ugly plastic that went 1/2 way up the wall used so much glue that it completely tore up the walls, so we're going to have to replace it with all new dry wall. Once we get the dry wall hung, we have to prime & paint (still debating colors), put in new flooring, replace the toilet and then we can finally install our new vanity (which I love!). Our goal is to get this all complete by the end of the weekend, we'll see if that happens :)

7.07.2009

34 Weeks :: Sophia is the size of a cantaloupe!

Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

How far along?: 34 weeks, 1 day
How big is baby?: Almost 5 pounds, not quite though!
Maternity clothes?: I'm starting to get to that point where I hate all of my clothing. I had a little hissy fit on Sunday afternoon over what to wear. Hormones :)
Stretch marks?: Still none...keep crossing those fingers!
Sleep?: I've been very lucky with sleep with my pregnancy...no issues so far!
Best moment this week?: We shot a really elegant, beautiful wedding on Saturday...it was short & sweet! We also had a really nice time hanging out with Jordan's family all day Sunday afternoon. It was awesome to just relax for a couple hours!
Movement?: She beats me up!
Food cravings?: Still chocolate...especially chocolate fudge brownies
Labor signs?: Just the occasional Braxton Hicks contractions
Belly button in or out?: Still in! I can't believe it hasn't popped.
What I miss: Same as last week...being able to breath! Sophia still likes to stick a foot or a hand up in my ribs and it so incredibly uncomfortable.
What I'm looking forward to: Jordan is remodeling our bathroom this weekend! I've been wanting this for so long :)

My wedding season is officially over...Well, until September :) I need this break in order to catch up on everything that I'm so behind on. I swear there aren't enough hours in the day to get everything completed. I still need to get the antique chair reupholstered that we bought for Sophia's nursery and then her nursery will officially be complete! It's just sitting and waiting for her! I like to go in there sometimes and just look at everything...I can't wait to meet her.

I always wonder if she's going to get my blue eyes or Jordan's blonde streaks that he had as a baby...and I'm sure she'll inherit the crooked teeth that Jordan and I were both blessed with :) It's all starting to feel real now and I think it is for Jordan too. I'm just ready to get this show on the road now!

I did 4 SUPER loads of laundry of all of Sophia's clothes...I can't get over all of the clothes. I know she won't be able to wear them all though, so I guess I'm going to have to change her outfits several times through out the day so that I can see them all on her :) I CANNOT wait to put her in the little tu-tu that Kendra & Megan got for her...it's the cutest thing I've ever seen!

7.02.2009

I have awesome co-workers!

They threw a shower for me on Monday at Bravo and I am so thankful :) They totally went above & beyond and got us the video monitor and the other stroller (almost like an umbrella stroller, but much nicer) we had registered for.

I am so grateful. We have the most awesome family & friends...the only thing that we have had to actually purchase ourselves was the stroller (which I've made many posts about, hee-hee) and we're going this weekend to get a pack-n-play. That's IT!

We are very, very lucky...thank you everyone! It means a lot to know we have such a great support system.

6.29.2009

must. have. these.

I recently discovered these adorable "Baby Legs" AKA leg warmers and I am in love with them! I have found some absolutely adorable ones on Etsy...Sophia will definitely be sporting these :) I'm thinking of ordering some to do some photography shoots with also. Drool!
These are from Etsy seller "knottybabywear":

These are from Etsy seller "fategoddess"

It's going to be hard to choose which ones I want :)

33 weeks :: Sophia is now the size of a pineapple!

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

How far along?: 33 weeks today
How big is baby?: Approx 4 pounds!
Maternity clothes?: Oh yes...I'm starting to get to the point where my long & loose-fitting tops are no longer long enough to cover my whole belly.
Stretch marks?: Still none on the belly ::fingers crossed it stays this way::
Sleep?: Still pretty good besides getting up to pee every couple hours!
Best moment this week?: Has it seriously been another week? I shot an AWESOME wedding this weekend, it was a beautiful location and a beautiful couple.
Movement?: I think that I FINALLY felt hiccups, at least that's what I think it was. She's giving me great big kicks and jabs that you can see, it's crazy. I can feel lots of stretching and squirming too!
Food cravings?: Chocolate anything.
Labor signs?: Getting lots more Braxton Hicks.
Belly button in or out?: Still in!
What I miss: Being able to breath! I feel like she just sits in my throat all the day and it's actually very uncomfortable and sometimes painful.
What I'm looking forward to: 4th of July! I'm shooting a wedding in the afternoon but the evening will hopefully be spent relaxing with family.
Milestone: Getting my first "Oh my god!" comments, hee-hee. I got out of the car and a woman looked at me and literally said "whoa."

So, Miss Sophia is now the size of a pineapple...very fitting since I had to make a stop at Meijer on my way into work this morning for some pineapple and strawberries :)

It was another hectic weekend for me with an engagement session on Friday evening, a gorgeous wedding on Saturday and then editing most of the day on Sunday. I have one wedding left (4th of July) before Sophia arrives and then I am officially on maternity leave for my photography business. Hate to say it, but I am SO glad I'm getting a bit of a break...I'll also get this time to catch up on all of the editing that I'm so behind on. It just feels impossible to catch up on everything when I work a full-time job during the day. I'm really starting to slow down and the heat makes it more difficult. It's been in the 90's and humid everyday for the last week or so. Jordan and I did finally take some time to run a couple errands and go out to dinner. It was nice to finally just sit with him and talk about nothing.

My co-workers are throwing me a little baby shower today, which I'm really excited about! We're going to Bravo for lunch, one of my faves :)

6.22.2009

32 weeks :: Sophia is the size of a Jicama!

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

How far along? Exactly 32 weeks
Maternity clothes? Oh yes! I've also given up any kind of normal shoe. Thank God I have a nice boss who understands and lets me wear sandals to work :)
Stretch marks? Nope, please stay this way!
Sleep: Still good, still waking up early though!
Best moment this week: Getting our house painted! I've been wanting to do this forever and Jordan finally gave in :) Next up is re-doing our bathroom!
Movement: HUGE kicks! I can actually feel her when she moves from side to side of my belly.
Food cravings: Still craving Starbucks and the chocolate cravings are back again
Gender: It's a girl!
Labor Signs: None yet, she needs to cook longer! Just random Braxton Hicks contractions here and there.
Belly Button in or out? Still hasn't popped, I thought for sure it would have by now.
What I miss: My life. I do nothing but work...guess I better get used to that!
What I am looking forward to: Some relaxtion time, but I don't see that happening
Weekly Wisdom: Listen to your body. Take a break and sit when your body is telling you to do so.

I've had no exciting updates or pictures lately because I've honestly had no time to do them. I go to work everyday until about 5ish and then I come home and work more, whether it be working on the house or editing pictures (which I am soooo behind on!) until about 1o or 11 o'clock at night. The weeks are absolutely flying by since things have been so busy! Things should slow down a bit after 4th of July weekend. I will be on maternity leave with my photography business at that point, but I'll still be going into my "day job" everday basically until my water breaks. My photography business is doing awesome and I've already booked several weddings for 2010, which I'm very excited about :)

I've also gotten to that "freak out" stage where I'm beginning to worry about little things that I've never done before...Such as giving Sophia her bath, knowing how much to feed her, finding a pediatrician, and even just going to the store with her. Luckily Jordan and I have awesome families who have helped us out with so much, it's amazing...So it's nice to know I'll be able to call and bug them whenever I don't know how to do something or need help!

I'm also starting to get the wide-eyed looks and the "Oh my! You must be ready to pop any day now!" comments from strangers. The look on their faces when I tell them I have about 2 months to go is pretty hysterical :)

6.15.2009

31 weeks :: Sophia is the size 4 oranges!

This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

How far along? 31 weeks exactly
Maternity clothes? Oh yes!
Stretch marks? Nope, please stay this way!
Sleep: Still waking up early everyday, but sleep is good! I find myself ready for bed earlier and earlier every night :)
Best moment this week: Doug & Courtney's wedding, we had such a wonderful time...wish we could have stayed longer! We also had a great time in Chicago for Dannie & Shane's reception and hanging out with Morgan and Katy!
Movement: All the time and all over!
Food cravings: Last week was Starbucks iced caramel macchiatos
Gender: It's a girl!
Labor Signs: Just random Braxton Hicks contractions
Belly Button in or out? I think it's going to pop any day now!
What I miss: My ankles, they have disappeared
What I am looking forward to: Hopefully relaxing a bit this week and I'm also very excited for Heather's wedding this weekend!
Weekly Wisdom: Keep those feet propped up to help with the swelling...I think I can see my ankles a little bit again today :)

What a weekend! Friday was Doug & Courtney's rehearsal dinner (which was so yummy!), then on Saturday I followed Courtney around with my camera all morning as she got ready for her wedding (she looked amazing!) and then we had to leave their reception early in order to make our drive out to Chicago for Dannie's reception on Sunday morning. We were so sad to leave early, we were having an awesome time!

The drive to Chicago wasn't too bad, we hit a bit of traffic here and there but nothing horrible. Dannie's reception was so much fun too! They had awesome food and the coolest sweets table ever, it was my fantasy :) The drive home was not so much fun. We hit traffic and construction EVERYWHERE and it added a good 2 hours onto our drive, so needless to say I'm pretty tired. I'll post pictures from everything very soon!

6.09.2009

30 Weeks :: Sophia is head of cabbage!

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)
How far along? 30 weeks, 1 day
Maternity clothes? Oh yes!
Stretch marks? Nope, please stay this way!
Sleep: Pretty good! I have been waking up at around 6:30 or 7 every day though.
Best moment this week: My baby shower and our 1 year wedding anniversary!
Movement: All the time and all over!
Food cravings: I gave in to my powdered donut cravings :)
Gender: It's a girl!
Labor Signs: Braxton Hicks contractions are becoming just about a daily thing now, but no labor signs.
Belly Button in or out? It's just about to pop!
What I miss: Same as last week...relaxing. We're so busy lately, you should see our to-do list for this week!
What I am looking forward to: Courtney & Doug's wedding on Saturday and then Dannie & Shane's wedding on Sunday!
Weekly Wisdom: It's okay to let someone help. You don't have to do everything yourself!

Well, as I said before I had a wonderful time at my shower :) Couldn't have gone any better! I also got an e-mail from www.spearmintbaby.com and they actually want to feature my shower on their website. How cool is that? I'll be sure to post the link as soon as they put it on their website.
Sunday was also Jordan and I's 1 year wedding anniversary. I can't believe it was a year ago, so much has changed in that amount of time! I feel very lucky to have such a supportive, funny person to be married to. I feel even more lucky that he is truly my best friend and I would trust him with anything. Here's to many more years to come!
