Vernix caseosa, a greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil and dead skin cells (yum) now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. (Picture yourself after a nine-month bath, and the need for protection makes sense.) You might actually get to see the vernix at birth, especially if baby is premature. I know I've been lacking posting updates and belly pictures. Honestly, I haven't had time! I feel like I'm always on the go. I'm more mad about not getting my weekly belly bump picture. I'm making a promise to myself to take one every week once I hit 20 weeks (next week!). I'm not showing too much right now, so it's really not all that exciting :)
I'm still feeling little kicks just about every day, usually at night when I'm laying in bed. They're small but I feel them!
