Husbands, don't do this
As funny as you may have thought you were being, never ever say to your pregnant wife "You're kind of in that in between stage where it just looks like you have a beer gut!". My reaction was something like this:
I swear, I think I felt flutters!
I was laying in bed this morning (very still) and I felt just the funniest tickling feeling in my belly. It really did feel like there was a little butterfly flying around in there! Very cool :)

I think I was a hippy in another life
I'm seriously considering making our own baby food. The more I read about it, the more I like the sound of it. I read 2 sweet potato's is like 20 servings! Not sure about the accuracy of that, but heck it's worth a try.
I joked about it with my family this weekend and they all looked at me like I was crazy...and basically told me that it would just be a pain and too time consuming. I understand that it probably is much easier to open the cabinet and screw the jar lid off some Gerber, but from what I've read it only takes like 10-15 minutes to make it yourself. Plus you can freeze the leftovers. I also love knowing everything that's going in it.
All of these things are pointing to YES. I really see no downfall to it. I'm willing to take the extra 10 minutes!
Hmm...I'm off to do more research! We'll see.

Love these
1. Was the pregnancy planned?
Yes sir.
2. Were you married at the time of the pregnancy?
Yep.
3. How old were you when you got pregnant?
22, I'll be 23 by the time baby comes though.
4. Did you want a boy or girl?
Honestly, I don't care! At first I said I really wanted a boy but I think having a boy or a girl would be so much fun. I look forward to going to a boy's football & baseball games, yet I can't wait to help pick out my little girl's first prom dress.
5. What are you having?
Not sure yet...Should find out in a couple of weeks
6. Do you have a name picked out?
The only girl name we can agree on so far is Ella Grace. I love Elizabeth Grace (call her Elli) but Elli Begley just sounds silly.
Boy: either Landon or Grayson, our preference changes just about daily. Right now we're leaning more towards Grayson. Not sure of middle names yet.
7. What is your due date?
August 17, 2009
8. What's the first item you bought for the baby?
Nothing yet! I've been waiting until we find out what we're having.
9. How has the pregnancy been going?
Miserable. I STILL have morning sickness and nausea.
10. Any cravings?
Pickles, Snicker's Ice Cream Bars, Subway, Chips & Salsa, Cereal (LOTS of it)
11. How much time are you taking off for maternity leave?
I haven't decided yet...A month or 2
12. Are you having a shower?
I think so...My family has already been asking about what I'm registering for
13. Where are you registered at?
I just have a private wish-list right now at Babies-R-Us....It's mostly just stuff that I've seen that I don't want to forget about. Jordan and I will make a real registry eventually.
14. Is the nursery done?
Gosh, not even close! We haven't even started clearing furniture out yet.
15. Are you going to Breastfeed or Bottle feed?
I'm going to try to pump...None of the women in my family have had any luck with it, but I'm determined!
16. Have you been keeping a pregnancy journal?
Well, this blog :)
17. What's your favorite thing(s) about being pregnant?
Right now, just just the end result...It has NOT been fun so far!
18. What's your least favorite thing(s) about being pregnant?
Constant nausea & morning sickness. I need to get on Zofran...I needed to get on Zofran weeks and weeks ago.
19. What have you done to pamper yourself during the pregnancy?
Nothing yet...My mom is treating me to a spa day for my birthday in a couple weeks though!
20. Have you had the crazy pregnany hormones or has anything out of
the ordinary made you cry?
Yes. Sorry Jordan!
21. Will you have a natural or medicated birth?
Epidural all the way, no doubt about it. I'm a big baby.
22. Have you had any cases of pregnancy brain?
Oh yes! I forget EVERYTHING. I lost my cell phone for a week and later realized that it had been at the bottom of my purse the whole time. Then I forgot my extension # at my work, even though I've been here for 3 years now.
23. Are you going to attend childbirth/lamaze classes?
Yep, we just started looking at them!
24. Do you want more kids?
We'll see. Maybe 1 more...We're not sure yet

Ladies & Gentleman, It's a...
NAVAL ORANGE!
Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now outmeasure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements.

My hormones got the best of me...
Poor Jordan! He has been so awesome dealing with my crazy food cravings. He doesn't even complain when I send him to the store at 10 o'clock at night for some chips & dip or Subway...he just goes! Well, after watching a Chips Ahoy commercial on TV I decided that I had to have some now. We were out of dog food anyway so I asked Jordan to pick up some Chips Ahoy cookies for me while he was at the store.
Jordan comes back in with Chewy Chips Ahoy. I lost it. You're supposed to read my mind and just know that I wanted the regular kind! Duh! You can't dip Chewy Chips Ahoy cookies in milk, it just isn't the same. So yeah, my first ridiculous hormone-ridden temper tantrum. I apologized, poor guy.

15 weeks today!
I never got around to taking my 14 week belly picture...I imagine it's not a whole lot different than my 13 week. I'll get a 15 week picture up sometime soon! Well, morning sickness showed back up again this morning. I made it an entire week and thought that I had finally gotten over it, nope! I knew it was coming. I felt nauseous all day Saturday & Sunday and woke up feeling even worse today. Of course it happened AFTER I brushed my teeth too!
I've been sleeping horribly too. Luckily my mom got me a body pillow that I was able to use for the first time last night...It helped A LOT. I only woke up 3-4 times last night instead of 8-9. Let's hope that today was the last of my morning sickness and I can go back to enjoying sleep!
How far along? 15 weeks today
Maternity clothes? I gave in and bought some black maternity pants for work. Soooo much better. I think I'm going to have to get some jeans soon though. Not really wearing any maternity tops yet.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Has gotten better with my body pillow
Best moment this week: Ugh, well my morning sickness this morning totally ruined my week of no nausea!
Movement: None, too early.
Food cravings: The pickle cravings aren't quite as bad...I've been eating lots of sandwiches. I still can't do red meat or fast food.
Gender: Still think it's a girl
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Innie
What I miss: Sleeping through the entire night...I guess I better get used to it!
What I am looking forward to: My BIG 20 week ultrasound...Only 5 more weeks!
Weekly Wisdom: Eat whatever you can keep down! That was more my doctor's wisdom than my own, but I agree :)
Milestones: Wearing my first pair of maternity pants...I guess that's a milestone

Confession: Irrational fears
When I have morning sickness, I have a completely ridiculous fear of throwing up my unborn fetus. Yes world, this is how my brain works.

I'm having Oreo's & milk for breakfast...
Don't judge. They're delicious :)

Mom's are the best
She bought me a gigantic box of Old Navy Maternity shirts...Seriously probably 20 tops in there. Score! They all look so gigantic right now, it's hard to imagine I'm going to be that huge.
OH MY DEAR GOD
Do not, I repeat, do not do "Madame Zaritska Predicts Your Birth Experience"...unless you want be to totally scared to EVER giver birth! Here is what that crazy woman had to say for my birth experience:
The day you deliver, outside will be foggy. Your baby will arrive in the middle of the afternoon. After a labor lasting approximately 48 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 12 pounds, 11 ounces, and will be 17-1/2 inches long. This child will have light green eyes and barely there brown hair.
Um...12 pounds, 11 ounces and 17 1/2 inches long? Please say a little prayer for me!

New Weekly Ritual
How far along? 14 weeks exactly
Maternity clothes? Just the belly band right now...Although, my mom is AWESOME and loaded me up with an entire box of new tops from Old Navy. Not quite ready for them yet though.
Stretch marks? Not yet, thank God.
Sleep: Sucks. I keep waking up every 1 hour on my back. I used to sleep like a baby.
Best moment this week: Well, it's only Monday but I'm not nauseous today!
Movement: None, boo.
Food cravings: I ate an entire jar of Izzy's pickles yesterday...In one sitting.
Gender: I think it's a girl :)
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Still in, I'd be surprised if it ever popped.
What I miss: My appetite...I miss loving food. It's more of a chore now.
What I am looking forward to: Buying this stroller that Jordan and I have had our eye on for a while now
Weekly Wisdom: Take everyone's unsolicited advice with a grain of salt. They mean well, even though it is incredibly annoying.
Milestones: None really. I've popped what I like to tell myself is a bump :)

First ultrasound!
Everything went well! Besides having a grumpy u/s tech and the baby not being cooperative enough to get good measurements, it was awesome! It took longer than I expected, which I was happy about because we got to watch him/her on the screen for a while! The baby was throwing its little arms around in the air and kicking it's little feet! The doctor said that we shouldn't be at risk for downs syndrome, and baby's heartrate sounded great at 162 BPM! He also decided to leave my due date at August 17th, so daddy and both grandma's will get a very good birthday present ;)
Here's a 4D pic of the back of the baby's head, back and little rump

I've heard of these people, but didn't really think they existed.
I was asked by an almost-stranger if my pregnancy was planned. Why do people think that once someone becomes pregnant, they lose all sense of decency and think it's completely fine to comment on weight, give completely unsolicited advice and ask RUDE questions?
See, my boss is crazy excited about my pregnancy for some reason and feels the need to tell almost everyone we come in contact with. I had met this other woman, oh I don't know, maybe two or three times before this. Here is how the convo went:
Boss: Have you heard? Ashley is expecting!
Rude Woman: Congratulations! So, was it planned or was it an oopsie!?
Me: Uh....Yes. It was planned. ::evil stare::
People, don't do this. Unless you're my mom or BFF, it is NOT okay to ask about my weight, give advice (unless asked for), or ask if my pregnancy was planned! It would make all of the pregnant women in the world so much happier!

I have an addiction
I am addicted to Rate My Space. This addiction first started when we bought our first house in 2007 looking for decorating ideas...Now with a baby on the way it's gotten way worse. I now have 8 pages of saved images in my Photobucket!
I have an insane obsession with anything bird-related or damask. I'm now secretly hoping for a girl so that I can combine the two ;) Here are things that made me say "oooooh"
I love these walls

::drool:: I must have a birdie mobile

I love lamp

Whaaat? I'm in 2nd tri?
I didn't even realize until last night that I am in 2nd tri! The time really does fly. I thought that this would be the longest pregnancy ever, since we found out so early...but it is going by SO fast!
Want to know what else is awesome? I have some energy back! There were days that I seriously considered pulling a "George Constanza" and sleeping under my desk. I'm sure the sleepiness will come back but I'm enjoying my energy for now!

Names & Cravings
I'm finally taking it upon myself to keep updating this thing.
Current Cravings:
Pickles
Cereal (Cocoa Pebbles, Fruity Pebbles & Lucky Charms...you know, the healthy stuff)
Snicker's Ice Cream Bars
Push-Ups
Gusher's
Water (which is so beyond weird, I hate drinking water)
Gyro's (They know me by name now, seriously)
Stuff that make me want to blow chunks:
Red meat
Fast food ::shudder::
Anything fried
Onto names! Jordan and I have talked about baby names before we even considered TTC. Landon (for a boy) has been at the top of our list for a couple of years now, but Grayson is growing on us, a lot. I also like that it isn't very popular, yet anyway. The only girl name we have been able to agree on is Ella Grace. I know, it's not original at all...but it's pretty and sounds good with our last name. I've come to the conclusion that no one picks "original" baby names. Well, unless of course you name your kid Apple, Plaxico or anything completely ridiculous like that.

My blog is seriously lacking
Honestly, I've been too tired to even think about updating this thing.
The last month has been pretty miserable with constant nausea and the occasional morning sickness. My nausea has finally slowed down a bit and I've actually had some energy, thank God. I also ate an entire box of Snicker's Ice Cream Bars this weekend. Yes, really.
I had my first doc appointment about 2 weeks ago. It went great and we even heard the heartbeat, which sounded great at 176 BPM! I just love my doctor and I'm so glad I took the recommendation for him!
I go back again next week for a dating ultrasound, so we'll get to see our little birdie finally! The doc said he thought I was probably around 10 weeks when he saw me (which I agree with) which means this is week 12. Wow! Almost done with first tri!
